Define Yourself: Newcomer or visitor to the island? Doesn't matter, just pick a spot for warmth, spirit, and friendly people and you have described the best kept secret on the west end: West Isle Presbyterian Church.
What Do You See? Just what you'd expect. We are an island church, flanked by swaying palms, surrounded by the call of sea gulls and distant surf on quiet days. Turn off West Stewart Road when you see the tall cross and an inclined pathway to the front doors.
The Pathway: Inclined in order to have an elevated building in case of storm tides and also to avoid stairs of any type. We welcome all ages and disabilities.
Come as You Are: Dress is clean, casual, or even beach wear, including flip flops. Many beach campers attend on summer Sundays. Don't be alarmed if you see a tie or even a jacket (some wear them just to keep in the habit of dressing up occasionally).
Our Sanctuary: We are so proud to ask you to sit down in a comfortable chair and relax in a honey-warm room with tall windows and lovely polished pine ceilings. Get comfortable and invite the Holy Spirit to touch you as the chimes begin, silence descends and services begin. The surprises are yet to come and for you to discover. See you soon – and often.
